How does Penoco test for asbestos?

We begin our asbestos testing process by extracting a sample of the material thought to contain asbestos. Next, we send the sample to an accredited lab for testing. Using transmission electron microscopy or polarized light microscopy, the lab will identify how much, if any, asbestos is present. If the material is composed of less than 1% asbestos, it is not hazardous by EPA standards so no further action is required. If the material is composed of more than 1%, it is necessary to perform an asbestos abatement.

How does Penoco remove asbestos?

The first step in our asbestos removal process is to seal off the part of the building where the asbestos is being removed to prevent contaminating other areas of the building. The building is sealed off using polyethylene film and duct tape, while working to maintain negative air pressure throughout the room. Next, we remove the asbestos through various methods: scraping, glove bagging, or dry ice blasting.
